Rosacea Reports by Dr. Geoffrey Nase:

Rosacea Treatment Information and Rosacea News from Experts in

Blood Vessel Dysfunction, Skin Inflammation, Nerve Hyperactivity,

Hormonal Hyperactivity, and Immune Function

Statement by Dr. Geoffrey Nase:  Some of the best research on rosacea treatments and pathogenesis have come from bio-medical researchers and physicians "outside" the rosacea area.  They are not specifically focused on rosacea, but they are studying and treating physiological processes that are directly involved in rosacea; they just dont realize how important their research is to the rosacea community.   There are many bio-medical reserachers and clinical physicians working on vascular dysfunction, vascular treatment, inflammatory skin processes, hypothalamic dysregulation of nerves and hormones, and alterations in immune function of facial skin. These researchers are studying the causes of facial flushing, skin inflammation, skin barrier disruption, vasodilator nerve activity, dilator hormonal activity and phyto-medicinal extracts that repair blood vessels, protect blood vessels and repair inflamed skin cells.  This information is extremely valuable to rosacea sufferers and some of the treatments that are utilized in these various medical areas are of great help in reducing rosacea symptoms, rosacea progression and rosacea treatment.

Goal of this Important Section:  Researchers and physicians in different fields must collaborate with Dermatologists in order to advance the understanding and treatment of rosacea, acne rosacea, ocular rosacea and facial flushing.
